Families Upon Thames magazine cover

One of my images is on this issue's cover of Families Upon Thames which I am made up about! It's a photo I took of my little boy last Autumn in Bushy Park.....when he was still just a little chubby cheeked baby that didn't move!


This is the image that won me the Gold Award with the SWPP and helped me get shortlisted as Baby Photographer of the Year 2009. (I find out if I've won the title at an awards ceremony in January!) So it's appeared in Professional Imagemaker already but this is my first ever magazine cover so I'm chuffed to bits!


I've also just found out that I have won a Silver Award in the 'Portraiture Contemporary' category for the image below so this week has been full of good news!

I know this post has been all about me and my business so I promise the next one will be about my lovely clients and their even lovelier children! 

Family Photography in Twickenham

I had another lovely autumnal shoot on Saturday morning with these gorgeous brothers above and their mum and dad. I was greeted at the door by their eldest, who said to me with a big smile on his face 'I hear you take photos. I bet I have a better camera than you and I can take better photos too.' So it seemed I had competition! I think I earned his respect though when I showed him that I in fact had TWO cameras and lots of lenses although he did say it was 'a bit weird'!

The boys were such good fun and full of giggles and cheekiness. They are proper little balls of energy though so I'm delighted with the photos above and below as I actually got them both to stay still at the same time!

What a lovely happy family they make!

It was raining for most of the shoot but it finally stopped towards the end so we got to run around their lovely garden and climb trees (well the boys did anyway - I stayed with my feet firmly on the ground!)

I'm just loved the Star Wars body warmers and so had to capture the shot below of them running back into the house at the end of the session.

Family Photography in Surbiton, Surrey

I had a fab shoot on Saturday morning with this edible boy above called Ellis. He had the most gorgeous lips....Angelina Jolie eat your heart out!

I met Adrienne at Buggyfit classes in Bushy Park and recently she booked me to do a shoot with her family. We started the shoot at their home in Surbiton then went to Bushy Park to take advantage of all of the gorgeous leaves on the ground at the moment. I really do think Autumn is my favourite season.....especially for photography. All of the beautiful colours and the cosy jumpers! And normally in Autumn it's pretty overcast which produces a wonderful even light for photographs.

Adrienne loves the more 'quirky' shots that I do which meant I could do lots of bold composition and cropping which I just love. And Ellis is just the perfect model to do this with due to his fab features!

A&R - I hope you've enjoyed this sneak preview....there are loads more great images to come. I'm having a tough job narrowing them down!

Newborn Photography in Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey

I had another newborn shoot today, this time with a gorgeous two week old boy called Augustin. He was a very calm baby and let us do pretty much anything with him.....even allowing us to get some shots of him in his birthday suit at the end of the session! (he did have a little accident on the bed but the photos made it worth the clearing up!)

I have included more family shots than I usually do in a newborn sneak preview; they were all so lovely I just couldn't decide between them!

Newborn Photography in New Malden, Surrey

I had a shoot this morning with this gorgeous little lady who is the grand old age of 14 days old! We actually had the session planned in for next week but as Amelia decided to enter the world a bit early we needed to bring the shoot forward so we could catch up while she's still little. And little she is....still weighing not much over 5lbs....so tiny and cute!

Amelia wasn't too keen on participating in any sleeping shots on the blankets and beanbag that I took along to the shoot, and found sleeping on Daddy much nicer! So most of the shots you see below are all in Daddy's arms!

Sophia & Kash - it was really lovely to meet you and your beautiful daughter. Thank you so much for welcoming me into your house at this special time and for the lovely cup of tea! I hope you've enjoyed your sneak peak at some of the images from the session.

Wedding Photography in Leatherhead, Surrey

My little boy in the woods in Esher

What fantastic weather we've had this weekend, I'm so pleased we're having a bit of an indian summer!

I bought a big frame ages ago in anticipation of my little boy walking, but then since he started walking a few months ago I just haven't had the time to take a photo of him to put in it! Well, I finally got round to it today.....it was such a gorgeous day that Karl and I decided to go to the woods near Garsons Farm in Esher and luckily I thought to pick up my camera on the way out of the house!

Baby Photography in Surbiton. Surrey

I had a shoot on Saturday with this delightful 7 month old girl on Saturday and her lovely parents. Izzy was such a happy little thing and just laughed and giggled her way through the session!

We started the session at their house where I got some photos of the family in their formal clothes for a festival they were attending the next day.

Izzy and I then got to know each other with me chasing her round the front room. She started crawling when she was under 6 months old and is really fast already.......she's really strong so I think she'll be walking within no time!

We then did the second part of the shoot at Bushy Park which as you'll know if you're a regular reader of my blog, is always a favourite place of mine for shoots.

I'm not sure what Daddy was doing behind my back but Izzy just found it hilarious!

I've just got my broadband up and running in my new house today (yay!) so I feel like I've just got my right arm back! Lots more exciting posts coming up soon.

Wedding Photography in Oxted, Surrey

I had the pleasure of being the photographer at Monique and James' wedding on 29th August in Oxted. The wedding was held in Monique's sister's beautiful garden which made a wonderful setting for the ceremony and reception. Monique made a really stunning bride!

This was one of the first full weddings I have been the sole photographer at and I really enjoyed it and am delighted with the images. I think my natural style works well for reportage, candid wedding photography and I just capture the day as it unfolds without getting in the way too much!

The bridesmaids and page boy looked gorgeous!

I'm sorry this post is the first for a few weeks....as you may have read in the post below, we moved house at the beginning of September and we STILL have no broadband (which is driving me insane!) I have had to drive down to my parents house in Sussex today just so I can catch up on everything and also update my loyal blog readers!

Thank you to all of my lovely clients (and family and friends!) over the past couple of weeks for being patient when I haven't been able to respond to calls and emails immediately.
